Program Director's Message
Welcome to the Tulane University School of Medicine Anesthesiology Residency Program. Residents who enter our categorical 4-year residency program will discover early on that they are part of a family. We are an intimate department that prides itself on providing a supportive atmosphere that is conducive to learning in a variety of clinical and didactic settings. With an emphasis on professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork, our residents develop into perioperative physician consultants who are well prepared for leadership roles in the academic or private practice setting.
Tulane residents are challenged everyday to provide quality care to a patient population with a tremendous variety of pathology and disease. The size of our program allows residents flexibility to optimize their clinical experience to suit their needs and interests. With an abundance of highly complex surgical procedures occurring daily at Tulane Medical Center, Tulane-Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children, and several other affiliated area hospitals, our residents have ample opportunity to develop their skills quickly with challenging cases.
I completed my anesthesia residency and fellowship training in beautiful New England, where I was surrounded by wonderful people and outstanding teachers who continue to influence how I teach and interact with residents today. As a New Orleans native and a graduate of Tulane School of Medicine, I was excited to return home to family (and warmer weather). I feel blessed to be a part of a department with such energetic and talented faculty clinicians and educators. And above all, I am honored to serve our residents as their program director. Their efforts and accomplishments are inspiring, a constant reminder that learning is lifelong endeavor.
Please take some time to explore our website and learn about all we have to offer here at Tulane. If you value collaboration in a welcoming atmosphere, possess intellectual curiosity and initiative, and have a desire to care for a challenging patient population, then Tulane may be a good fit for you. If you want to know more about us, please feel free to contact me personally.
